Neil Patrick Harris detailed his decision not to determine the biological identity of his twins.

Over a decade ago, Neil Patrick Harris and his husband David Burtka embraced parenthood with the birth of their twins. Despite the passage of time, the celebrity couple consciously opted not to determine the biological father of each twin.

Neil, renowned for his roles in prominent US TV shows such as How I Met Your Mother and the classic Doogie Howser, M.D., revealed to American broadcaster Barbara Walters that he maintains a complete lack of curiosity regarding which twin is biologically connected to him. This decision, made when the children were four years old, remains steadfast.

"I have no interest in [finding out]. We are their parents, and I love them implicitly," he emphasized.

Elaborating on the conception process, Neil explained, "We inserted one of my sperm and one of David's sperm into two eggs with the hope that they would both take, just because we both wanted to be dads biologically. Both took, miraculously."

The twins, Gideon and Harper, were conceived using two embryos, each for one twin, and a surrogate carried them. The identity of the egg donor remains undisclosed.

Now in their teenage years, Gideon and Harper continue to flourish under the loving care of their dads. Despite not definitively knowing the genetic father of each child, Neil shared with Barbara that they do harbor suspicions based on the twins' behavior.

Recently, Neil and his family made headlines by unveiling their retro-style holiday cards in collaboration with Minted. The card features the couple, Gideon, Harper, and their French Bulldog named Chunk. Fans praised the charming card in the comments, expressing admiration for its aesthetics.

Neil, known for sharing family milestones online, marked the twins' birthdays in October with an Instagram tribute. The caption affectionately acknowledged their transition into teenagers, expressing his profound love and commitment to being there for them through every stage of life.
