Jennifer Lopez says 'women get sexier as they get older'

Jennifer Lopez has shared her perspective on women aging, and it's precisely the uplifting message we needed to hear.
Over time, women have faced numerous unrealistic beauty standards, but in recent times, they've been reclaiming their own definitions of beauty. Gracing the latest cover of ELLE’s Women in Hollywood at 54, Lopez delved into how Hollywood is finally embracing older women in various roles after years of exclusion.

"People have come to realize that women become more alluring as they age," she conveyed to the outlet. "They acquire more knowledge and depth of character. All of that is incredibly beautiful and attractive, not just physically, but internally—the beauty and wisdom that grow with age."
She then went on to state that she was extremely happy to see a shift in the industry.

"It has changed a lot, and I think it’s appropriate," she continued. "As you get older and you have more experience, you become a richer human being and you have more to offer. The idea of, 'There’s nothing really valuable about watching a woman over 30' is so ridiculous, it’s the opposite of right.

"It just makes me laugh," she added.

And this becomes an important aspect of change for Lopez too, because she doesn't plan on slowing down in her career any time soon.

"I see myself working [as long as] I want to. I don’t know what that age is. It might be 70, it might be 80, it might be 90, I don’t know. But I know that it’s there for me if I want it and I want to create it," the 'On The Floor' hitmaker stated.
Lopez's Elle photoshoot serves as evidence that women not only age gracefully but, if anything, even more gracefully than men, who have historically received preferential treatment in Hollywood.

The singer elegantly showcased herself in a stunning gold-foil gown featuring a one-shoulder cape detail. Her hair was expertly slicked back into a tight bun, complemented by coordinating statement earrings.

In another captivating shot, the star donned a midi dress with mesh cutouts and an uneven hem, paired with matching mesh pumps as she confidently posed for the camera.

Elsewhere in the interview, when she was questioned about any upcoming projects, Lopez said she's open to trying something new.

"I want to keep evolving," she said. "And whether I’ll take the helm and direct my own film at one point is a possibility," she added, while confessing that she’s "been offered to direct a couple of things," but had to decline "because of time constraints."

The 54-year-old's schedule seems pretty tight at the moment as she prepares to release her first album in almost a decade - music to the ears of fans who have been waiting patiently for the Puerto Rican performer to drop some new content.

We can't wait to see what she has in store for us!
