Trailer drops for creepy horror movie which is told from the killer’s POV

A disturbing teaser trailer has dropped for an upcoming horror flick that is sure to get under your skin.

Horror films are a dime a dozen these days. From a murderous Winnie the Pooh to evil animatronic bears, the films don’t seem to hit the mark, despite making bank.

But one upcoming horror film hopes to mix things up a little bit with its premise and unique POV.

Though it must be said, it's not for the faint-hearted, and even the most veteran horror flick fans may struggle.
The film, titled In a Violent Nature, premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and is set to be released on the streaming service Shudder, (I hadn’t heard of it either), later this year.

Shudder is an American over-the-top subscription video service that features films and shows featuring horror, thriller, and supernatural fiction titles.

The unique thing about In a Violent Nature is that instead of following the helpless victims, the film decides to follow the killer and their many gruesome kills.

The trailer, which was shared on the Rotten Tomatoes Trailers YouTube channel on January 30, is subtle but proves to be unnerving. Watch at your own risk:

It opens with a static shock of a pier and a lake, with quotes from reviews following.

The image of the lake remains quite peaceful until an apparent dead body floats to the surface before cutting to black. It then showed a figure folding a chain and hook in its hands while more reviews for the film popped up.

Those on social media certainly are on board with the premise and are interested to see where director and writer Chris Nash takes the film.

“About time we got some slow cinema horror. A slasher film, with no score, that follows a mute killer around from kill to kill instead of the teenagers sounds pretty interesting,” one user wrote.
“Saw it at Sundance. The kills roiled the sold-out theater. I cannot wait to see it again,” another wrote.

“Either a modern horror classic or the next big flop,” a third added.

“I was privileged to view this early. This film has some of the most believable kill sequences and is hands down the most violent film I've ever witnessed. Nash is a genius and should not be underestimated, it will not disappoint you,” a fourth person commented.

“The reviews have been good. It's not changing the wheel but a solid slasher with some great gore effects. Sounds good enough to me,” a final horror buff added.
