In a statement, the Tennessee TV station expressed its profound grief, saying: "We are devastated to announce the loss of our colleague Amanda Hanson. Amanda, a beloved journalist, Memphian, colleague, and friend, joined the Action News 5 team in 2021 and was the driving force behind the Action News 5 Digital Desk."

Amanda's journey in journalism had deep roots in the region, as she had previously worked at K8 News, a local Arkansas TV station. Per the New York Post, she dedicated her talents to K8 News from 2010 to 2015 and then returned from 2018 to 2021.

The station shared the devastating news that she had faced a "medical emergency earlier this week and died from complications."

And Justin Logan from Fox 56 Weather added: "I’m heartbroken to share that my dear friend, longtime colleague and Dance Party Friday buddy, Amanda Hanson KAIT, has died. Please keep her family and friends in your prayers."

Memphis radio station Q1075 also paid tribute to their former colleague, sharing" "We at Flinn Broadcasting are saddened by the passing of Amanda. Amanda was a part of our team for a period in the early 2000s as a weekend DJ. Her energy and passion for life and her love for her family were one of a kind. We are thinking and praying for her husband and family."
