Millie Bobby Brown is gearing up for a new chapter in her career. The 19-year-old star, best known for her role as Eleven in Netflix's hit series Stranger Things, is set to bid farewell to the show that catapulted her to fame in 2016. Stranger Things, which also features Winona Ryder, David Harbour, and Matthew Modine, is slated to conclude next year, although an official release date for the fifth and final season has yet to be confirmed.
While devoted Stranger Things fans lament the series' impending end, Brown is eagerly anticipating her departure. In an interview with Variety, the Enola Holmes star revealed, "Stranger Things takes up a lot of time to film and it’s preventing me from creating stories that I’m passionate about. So I’m ready to say, ‘Thank you, and goodbye’.” Despite her readiness to move on, Brown acknowledged the valuable experience she gained on the show, stating that it provided her with "the tools and the resources to be a better actor." Unlike many actors who find it difficult to part ways with their on-screen colleagues, Brown expressed confidence that she would still maintain her friendships: "When it ends, I’m going to be able to still see these people." Since her breakthrough in Stranger Things, Brown has collaborated with renowned figures in the industry, including Henry Cavill, Helena Bonham Carter, Alexander Skarsgård, and Sally Hawkins. She is currently working alongside Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt in the upcoming film The Electric State, set to be released in 2024. Brown shared her excitement about this opportunity, highlighting the equal treatment and respect she receives on set. The movie's plot revolves around a teenage girl named Michelle and her robot companion as they embark on a journey across the U.S. West Coast in search of Michelle's missing brother, amidst a world plagued by technological chaos and monstrous drones. Brown has achieved significant success in her professional life and has also found happiness in her romantic relationship. The talented actress recently got engaged to Jake, the 21-year-old son of Bon Jovi, who proposed earlier this year. While the exact wedding date remains unknown, it is believed that the couple is currently immersed in the preparations for their upcoming wedding.
