Rihanna criticized for doing the 'bare minimum' at $6 million wedding performance for Asia's richest family

Rihanna has called out after performing a 90-minute set at the recent wedding of billionaire Mukesh Ambani's son.
The 36-year-old musician - whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty - is known for becoming one of the most recognizable music talent on the planet - ever since her debut album, Music of the Sun, which was released in 2005 when she was only 17 years old.

Since then, the icon released seven back-to-back albums, selling over $250 million records worldwide and marking 14 number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100.

So, it makes sense that after her last album Anti (2016) was released, Rihanna took a much-needed break from the music industry, focusing on her business ventures: Clara Lionel Foundation, cosmetics brand Fenty Beauty, and lingerie brand Savage x Fenty - as well as motherhood.
But despite putting out her first song in 7 years for the 2022 Marvel film, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and doing her first big live performance at the 2023 Super Bowl, the 'Work' superstar has not taken to the stage for a full performance...

...until now.

Watch Rihanna's recent performance below:

On Friday (February 1), the pop star performed a 19-song pre-wedding show for Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.

Anant's father, Mukesh Ambani, has a net worth of $114 billion and reportedly paid the singer an eye-watering fee of over $6.3 million, per Daily Mail.

Footage of her singing fan favorites such as 'Work,' 'Stay,' 'Umbrella, 'B***h Better Have My Money,' and 'Consideration,' began circulating on X (formerly Twitter) thanks to gracious attendees who recorded much of the performance.

However, many of the business mogul's supporters were not impressed with her recent show as they voiced their disappointments on the social media platform.

One user wrote: "Rihanna gives the bare minimum every time she performs and yall go wild. It’s crazy," while another shared a video of giving lackluster moves during 'We Found Love,' and said: "Rihanna just don’t give a f***"

A third user pointed out: "People acting like Rihanna hasn’t always performed like this… I LOVE Rihanna but I always tell people her concerts have been some of the most boring I’ve been to."

"Rihanna is performing the same way I dance in my Zumba class, and she is getting paid billions for it," another user joked. "Cheque cleared before she even landed at the venue and that contract said no refunds," one more quipped.

During the concert, Rihanna expressed gratitude to the Ambani family for having, stating: "I’m here tonight in honor of Anant and Radhika. Thank you for having me here. God bless your union. I wish you all the best. Congratulations," per Daily Mail.

Unaffected by the backlash, the singer flew out of Jamnagar in the early hours of Saturday (February 2) morning where she told reporters at the airport that she "can't wait to be back."

"I love India. The show was the best. I haven't done a real show for eight years. So I wanna come back," she added, per the outlet.

In all honesty, it looks like everybody is having a good time - and it's always a treat to see Rihanna performing live.

Let's hope Rihanna blesses us with her new album this year.
