Dakota Johnson floors fans by revealing she sleeps 14 hours a night: 'It's my number one priority in life'

Dakota Johnson has left fans astonished by revealing that she sleeps a whopping 14 hours a night and finds it challenging to function with anything less than 10 hours of sleep.

While the importance of adequate sleep for brain performance, mood, and overall health is well-known, many of us likely fall short in achieving sufficient rest.

One individual who seems to be exceeding the sleep quota is Dakota, who recently shared details about her extraordinary sleeping habits in a new interview. In addition to her extended sleep routine, she also confessed that she is always ready to take a bath at any point during the day to alleviate stress.
The 34-year-old actress known for her role in 50 Shades of Grey, Dakota Johnson, disclosed to the Wall Street Journal that she finds it challenging to function with less than 10 hours of sleep and can easily sleep for 14 hours.

She emphasized that her wake-up time varies depending on her schedule, stating, "I don’t have a regular [wake-up] time. It depends on what’s happening in my life. If I’m not working, if I have a day off on a Monday, then I will sleep as long as I can. Sleep is my number one priority in life."

For those who can relate, the prospect of falling asleep easily, staying asleep, and avoiding disruptions from household members or pets sounds like an ideal situation.

In addition to her extended sleep routine, Dakota shared that she incorporates relaxing baths into her self-care routine, not exclusively at the end of the day as most people do. She explained, "I will get in a bathtub at any moment, any time of the day. If in the middle of the day, I’m like, 'Oh God, what is this world?' I’ll get in the bathtub. I find water really grounding."

Despite dedicating a significant portion of her day to sleep and baths, Dakota manages to fit in five days of workouts per week, engaging in bodyweight training, hot yoga, and pilates. She also prioritizes her mental health through meditation, practicing transcendental meditation twice a day and incorporating breathwork to help alleviate anxiety.
Dakota has consistently been transparent about her mental health, disclosing that she has grappled with depression since her teenage years.

In a 2020 interview with Marie Claire, she shared, "That was when, with the help of professionals, I was like, 'Oh, this is a thing I can fall into.' But I've learned to find it beautiful because I feel the world. I guess I have a lot of complexities, but they don't pour out of me. I don't make it anyone else's problem."

While it appears that Dakota prioritizes the holistic well-being of her mind and body, the secret to achieving 10-14 hours of sleep each night remains a mystery that many would like to unravel!
