Olivia Newton-John still “shows up” for daughter, more than a year after death

Olivia Newton-John‘s daughter has opened up about how she still feels her late mother’s presence, over a year after she lost her battle with breast cancer.
The Australian music icon had been public about her battles with breast cancer, which she was first diagnosed with in 1992. The news came from Newton-John’s family, who confirmed she died from the disease, “peacefully” and “surrounded by family and friends.”

“Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer,” her husband John Easterling wrote. An international icon of the ’70s and ’80s, Newton-John was one of the best-selling recording artists of all time, with over 100 million records sold.

Olivia Newton-John battled cancer Newton-John was diagnosed with breast cancer for the first time in 1992. She received treatment and recovered, and became an advocate for breast cancer research.
Her cancer went into remission for many years, but returned in 2013. After going into remission, it returned for a third time in 2013, metastasizing on her lower back. Despite her battle with cancer, the singer stayed positive, and continued to promote research.

“I’m so lucky that I’ve been through this three times and I’m still here. I’m living with it. It’s just reinforced my gratitude,” she told 60 Minutes Australia.

“We know we’re gonna die at some point, and we don’t know when it is. When you’re given a cancer diagnosis or a scary honest diagnosis, you’re suddenly given a possibility of a time limit,” she explained. “So every day is a gift.”

When Olivia died aged 73, she was survived by her husband and 37-year-old daughter, Chloe Lattanzi.

Olivia Newton-John is still present

Chloe has recently shared her belief that her mother is keeping her promise to continue being present in her life over a year after her passing, saying that she still “shows up” for her.

During a recent interview with Fox, Lattanzi explained a viral Instagram post she had made in June, in which she described her mother’s spirit appearing as a “blue orb” in mysterious photos.

The post garnered attention, and both Lattanzi and her stepfather, John Easterling, later shared their supernatural encounters with the late singer from the beyond.

“I was very happy that it became kind of a — it was on the news so that people who had lost people could know that it doesn’t, you know, it doesn’t just end with your body,” she explained.

Lattanzi continued: “Energy can neither be created nor destroyed. So her keeping her promise and showing up — she’s shown up about six times as this blue aqua orb.”

“In live photos, you can see it flying, moving in movement,” Lattanzi added. “It’s not just one of those silly reflections on an iPhone.”

Then, in an interview with People, Lattanzi explained that the “little blue orb” that she noticed in photos was the same color as an aquamarine pendant that Easterling had given her mother, and she has since inherited.

“Mom and I had talked years back,” she told the outlet. “We’d watch these paranormal shows, and I’d say, ‘You gotta show up for me.’ And she was like, ‘I’ll show up as one of those orb things.'”
Olivia’s late husband also told the outlet that he had also seen Newton-John’s spirit in the form of a small blue orb. The 71-year-old entrepreneur recalled that he traveled to Peru in June with his late wife’s ashes to hold a private ceremony commemorating what would have been their 15th anniversary. The pair secretly tied the knot at the same spot in 2008.

“I took a picture, and this blue orb is right between my eyes,” Easterling said. “It’s been a supernatural year.”

Lattanzi also shared stories of their intimate bond, with the young singer revealing: “It’s strange but being in bed because Mom was touring a lot and there were always people around her,” Lattanzi explained. “So when I got her at night, when she’d come home, we’d go, ‘Let’s get in PJs!’ and we’d jump in her bed.”

She continued: “I loved sleeping with her. That was my favorite thing. I’d sleep in her bed when she was gone, so I could smell her.”

Lattanzi has been sure to carry on her mother’s legacy by continuing the fight against cancer. She participated in the 10th-anniversary Walk for Wellness fundraiser at Melbourne, Australia’s Alexandra Gardens earlier this month, raising funds for the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre.
