Salma Hayek has been hailed as a "goddess" while celebrating National Bikini Day. Yep, that's a day that exists.

Taking to Instagram, the 56-year-old Mexican-American actress posted a risqué snapshot in honor of the holiday and it's safe to say she was celebrating it right.

Hayek gave fans a look at her stunning figure while sporting a multi-colored bikini that consisted of a tie-up top and matching bottoms and let's just say that fans we're loving her confidence.

Hayek wore her hair loose in the snap, accessorizing her swimwear with just a ring and long, chandelier earrings as she stared into the camera intensely, showing off her glowing, make-up-free skin.

The actress was standing in an indoor swimming pool as she embraced the spirit of the day that not many people even knew existed before her post.

Fans were obviously blown away by the snap, commenting: "Gorgeous as always!" and "My goodness wow. Beautiful Salma Hayek."

Others added: "You look good Salma" and "Let’s make national bikini day a weekly event."

One even wrote: "What I can't believe is how unbelievably stunning you look. Just simply a goddess."
Hayek has had a long and illustrious career in the entertainment industry, though she has seemingly been pushed into playing one particular role - the 'sexy' one.

In February, Hayek spoke to GQ about how it felt being pigeonholed into "sexy roles" throughout her career despite wanting to explore other types of characters.

"I was typecast for a long time," she told the outlet. "My entire life I wanted to do comedy and people wouldn’t give me comedies. I couldn’t land a role until I met Adam Sandler, who put me in a comedy [2010’s Grown Ups], but I was in my forties!

"They said, 'You’re sexy, so you’re not allowed to have a sense of humor.' Not only are you not allowed to be smart, but you were not allowed to be funny in the 90s," she continued.

"I was sad at the time, but now here I am doing every genre, in a time in my life where they told me I would have expired—that the last 20 years I would have been out of business.

"So I’m not sad, I’m not angry; I’m laughing," she added, while "clearly not laughing," the outlet reported.

"I’m laughing, girl," she re-emphasized sarcastically.
