Dad still mows ex-wife’s lawn after 28 years of divorce

Divorce can be a terrible experience. Many couples end up fighting bitterly in front of a lawyer and paying a lot of money to end their marriage. It can be messy, complicated, and full of hate and resentment.
But not all divorces are like that. Some couples manage to part ways peacefully and respectfully. They might still be friends, or even support each other when needed.

That’s the case of one man who still mows his ex-wife’s lawn after 28 years of being divorced. What a generous ex-husband!

“This is my dad, mowing my mom’s lawn. They’ve been divorced 28 years. My mom has bad knees, and my step dad works out...

His daughter, Codie McPhate, shared a photo of him doing this kind act on Facebook and it went viral.

“My mom has bad knees, and my step dad works out of town. When my younger siblings questioned, ‘Why is your dad mowing moms lawn?’ I told them, ‘Because, she needed help, and he knew she couldn’t get out here to do it, so he did,’” she wrote in her post.

The dad doesn’t live with Codie’s mom anymore. He actually did this favor for her while he was on vacation. She said that her parents have always agreed to “choose to be adults and treat each other with respect and compassion” even after their divorce.

Both Codie’s mother and father have remarried, but she says that she admires how well all four parents co-parent together. “This is how lucky I am to have 4 parents who respect each other, and know that at the end of the day, the only thing that matters is showing your children (Even ones that are 32 years old) how to treat people, and how to love your family, no matter how it came together,” she wrote.

There’s a stigma that makes it seem like being divorced is the worst thing in the world
