Ginnie has been credited to coming up with the finale for tne Newhart series where it was revealed that everything had been a dream and Dick Loudon existed merely in the imagination of Bob Hartley. The twist in the finale has long become one of the most favorite moments in television history for a lot of people. Ginnie would often appear in the background of a lot of shows for Newhart. In the 1970s game show Tattletales, the couple would often appear together.
The couple shared four children Robert, Tim, Jennifer and Courtney. They also have grandchildren. Newhart’s publicist also confirmed that a private memorial service will also be held for Ginnie in the coming weeks.
