Rihanna sends roses to senior citizens who recreated her Super Bowl halftime show

Rihanna has expressed her gratitude to elderly fans that recreated her Super Bowl halftime performance on TikTok. In case you missed it, the 35-year-old pop icon stunned the world after taking the stage at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on Sunday (February 12) for her first performance in five years.

The 'Work' hitmaker performed a medley of her greatest hits in a red jumpsuit that exposed her baby bump, with her representatives immediately confirming that she is indeed expecting another baby with her boyfriend A$AP Rocky.

The 'Umbrella' songstress put on a bombshell show with almost 200 dancers, and while some of the reaction has not been positive - as she received FCC complaints - a group of residents from Arcadia Senior Living in Bowling Green, Kentucky, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Watch their TikTok below:

In the TikTok video - which has now been viewed 33 million times - female residents of the facility dressed in white to portray the dancers, while the main star was in red, just like RiRi.

The 12-second clip begins with the ladies parting to make way for the singer who spins around and lip-syncs the lyrics of 'Rude Boy' into a white mic.

So many users on the social media platform enjoyed the wholesome video, with even the NFL themselves commenting "amazing," and now it looks like the 'Wild Thoughts' singer is also warmed by the senior citizens' gesture.

Rihanna sent a bouquet of flowers to congratulate the residents who took part in the TikTok. The delivery came with a note that called the dance "amazing" and it was also signed by Jay Z's record label, Roc Nation.

Many people commented on the singer's sweet gesture, with one person writing: "That was a great gift of appreciation."
Another person said: "I just LOVE THIS!!!!! CONGRATS to all!"
A third commented: "It is so beautiful and such a kind gesture to have been recognized for your performance by Rihanna & JayZ ! Great job ladies!"
A fourth shared: "As we get older in life and I can attest that sweet gestures like this makes the heart feel so young my hat is off to you Rihanna and you Jay z and of course all you lovely ladies at bowling Green."
Paige Oakes, the center's director of community relations, spoke with BuzzFeed about the recognition from the 'Where Have You Been' musician and said that they were in "shock".

"This whole time, we've just been waiting for a response from Rihanna - not really thinking that it would ever happen because we know she's busy and we didn't really know if she saw it or not," she continued.

"It made our day knowing that it reached her and she got to watch it and enjoy seeing our residents dancing to her music and having fun," Oakes added.

The video illustrates the joyful feeling of Rihanna's music, but Maitlin Nuckols, the facility’s director of life engagement, believes that online users are connected with it because it changes their perceptions of the older generation.

"Everybody loves to see the older generation letting loose and having fun," Nuckols said. "You always think of the older population in this way, and then I feel like this video just kind of shows a different side of them."
