'Proud step-grandma' Paulina Porizkova, 57, calls out negativity on her lingerie photo

Paulina Porizkova has clapped back at cruel commenters after they slammed her latest lingerie photo on Instagram.

The 57-year-old Czech-born supermodel posted a picture of herself posing in black lingerie with a red sweater that she "knitted" herself and in the caption, she jested about being a "grandma" by a fireplace.

"I’m the proud step-grandma of five. I’ve knitted the sweater I’m wearing- and yes, I’m standing by a fireplace," she wrote. "So this is what almost 58 looks like for me today."

The Thursday actress tagged the post with several hashtags, including #betweenjloandbettywhite, #sexyhasnoexpirationdate, #graypride, and #gettingbetterwithage. Check out her post below:

Shortly after, the Sports Illustrated model took to her social media to post a roundup of harsh comments from people that criticized her post.

Some of her followers accused her of being "hung up on age" and "too obsessed" with her looks, with one user writing: "You are not representative at all of what 58 looks like for most of us so why don't you sit down?"

Another user added: "You seem to keep feeling the need to prove something tha most people readily acknowledge about your preservation??"

Porizkova defended her "barely-clothed" snapshot in the caption and said that older women are "still sexy and viable, and certainly not invisible".

"Many of the unkind comments seem to focus on me needing validation - which is true in part, I do need to be noticed in order not to be invisible," Porizkova said. "You also call me out for promoting the objectification of women. This is also partly true, I am working within set constraints thousands of years old."

She took issue with people that remarked that because she is "tall and slim" she doesn't represent women her age "because I don’t look like a typical woman my age".

"I’m not trying to represent all women of my age. How could I? How could anyone? Don’t we all look different and isn’t that where our beauty lies? In our uniqueness?" the model continued.

"What is truly sad here are the obvious insecurities of women who cannot find space to love themselves for who they are. For what their bodies can do," Porizkova noted.

"For what they can feel. Instead, they will compare, feel wanting and ashamed for not measuring up, and turn around to shame those who made them feel this way. We can all only walk in our own bare feet, making our own unique imprints in the sand," she concluded.
Porizkova has never been shy about baring her body on social media as she often shares nude and topless snaps to lingerie and bikini videos/photos.

She has previously spoken about the objection towards her scandalous snaps in an interview with Page Six, saying: "It’s not the men that are the worst critics, which is really interesting."

"[It’s] all the women my age going, ‘You’re desperate, you’re hungry, why don’t you just retire and take care of your children and your household?'" she continued.

"I think we’ve made enormous strides in accepting all different sorts of beauty; I think size and color and all of these things that used to be so uniform now have broadened to a pretty spectacular [degree]. But age, ageism, that’s kind of like the last frontier," Porizkova added.
