Keanu Reeves shares heartbreak as John Wick co-star Lance Reddick dies aged 60

Keanu Reeves has opened up about the death of his co-star Lance Reddick as he leads the tributes pouring in for the beloved actor.

Reddick sadly passed away yesterday (March 17) at the age of 60 at 9:30 AM local time as confirmed by his publicist, Mia Hansen, via BBC News.

"Lance will be greatly missed," Hansen stated. "Please respect his family's privacy at this time."

Reddick leaves behind an incredible legacy of performances on both the big and small screen, which include credits in The Wire, Lost, and Fringe.
Shortly before his death, Reddick was taking part in a press tour for the upcoming release of the fourth John Wick movie where he appears alongside Hollywood legend Keanu Reeves. Reeves, famous for being one of Hollywood's nicest people, has led the tributes that have been pouring in for Reddick.

Releasing a statement to Variety, Reeves and John Wick director Chad Stahelski shared their heartbreak about their colleague's tragic passing.

"We are deeply saddened and heartbroken at the loss of our beloved friend and colleague Lance Reddick," the statement began.

"He was the consummate professional and a joy to work with. Our love and prayers are with his wife Stephanie, his children, family, and friends. We dedicate the film to his loving memory. We will miss him dearly."

Those who knew Reddick have flocked to pay their respects to their friend, with the creator of The Wire, David Simon, tweeting: "Consummate professional, devoted collaborator, lovely and gentle man, loyal friend. Could go on, but no, I can't go on. This is gutting. And way, way, way too soon."

Another of Reddick's John Wick co-stars, Ian McShane, told Variety: "Total shock and disbelief. Lance was a wonderful human being and a wonderful colleague. My deepest condolences, peace, and love to his wife, Stephanie, and all his family."

Another star who paid their respects to Reddick was fellow actor and co-star Wendell Pierce who described his friend as "a man of great strength and grace" and "as talented a musician as he was an actor."

Pierce added: "The epitome of class. A sudden unexpected sharp painful grief for our artistic family. An unimaginable suffering for his personal family and loved ones. Godspeed my friend. You made your mark here. RIP."

The legendary horror author Stephen King shared his grief: "Halfway through re-watching THE WIRE comes the news that Lance Reddick has died at the horribly unfair age of 60. Wonderful actor; wonderful man. This is sad news."

Ben Stiller added: "Lance Reddick was a beautiful and compelling actor. And a beautiful person. He worked with my mom Anne Meara in her play “Afterplay”, playing Raziel, the waiter slash angel of death. He was exquisite in that and all he did. Nothing is lost."

Other stars paying their respects included Oscar winner Guillermo del Toro, director James Gunn and actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

It's clear that Reddick touched many lives both on and off-screen, and our thoughts are with all of his loved ones at this time.
