According to a police report obtained by the Daily Mail, Neena sent alarming texts that prompted Kyle, who was out of town visiting his mother, to call police and ask for a welfare check.
By the time police were able to reach her, it was tragically too late.
“I love you Kyle. I always have and always will,” she texted him.

Neena's decision comes a few weeks after Kyle called off their engagement, less than two months before their wedding date.

The day before this incident, a worried friend came by the home Neena and Kyle had just bought together and removed all firearms.
Final text messages and conversations in the days leading up to the tragedy reveal that Neena was in a troublesome place, and it worried family members. A check on her computer's history revealed that Neena searched the internet the night before for ways to end her life.

She confessed to her sister over texts that "[Kyle] told me he hates me and will feel like a million bucks once I am out of his life."
Neena set out to obtain a firearm after her friend cleared out her house. Police found a receipt for the weapon she used, which was purchased just hours before, on her nightstand.

According to the report by the Daily Mail, the couple had a history of instability in their relationship.
Neena's friends say they feel say she always seemed more invested in her relationship with Kyle than he was.
"They were always arguing, and it seemed like Neena was more in love with Kyle [than] he was with her," one friend expressed to the outlet.

There were rumors, according to friends, that Neena suspected Kyle of cheating on her. She told them that she returned to their newly purchased home one day and found an unfamiliar pair of panties.
A friend of the couple revealed that Kyle showed someone a nude photo that a former lover had sent him and that he told them, "Look at her boobs and [expletive], I wish Neena's body looked like that."
