The first three episodes focused on the couple's early love story, and progressively ventured into describing the chain of events leading up to their wedding - including Meghan's inclusion into royal life and her experience of harsh tabloid gossip.
The Duke and Duchess spoke at length about how the UK media affected their lives - with 41-year-old Meghan even stating that she was never treated "like a Black woman" in the US and that she never personally experienced racism until she came to the UK.
A long-time outspoken critic of the couple, Piers, 57, tweeted fastidiously about the documentary less than 30 minutes after it aired - writing that it was "worse than Keeping Up With The Kardashians" in one tweet and going so far as to call Meghan "Princess Pinocchio" in another.

Following their meeting, he penned an article about his two hours in the pub with Harry's new girlfriend. Then, when the couple became engaged, he tweeted his congratulations and asked whether he would be invited to their nuptials. Not only that, but he even wrote on Twitter in 2017: "Is it wrong that my sole purpose in Pippa Middleton's wedding is what [Meghan] wears?"

Not long afterward, Piers appeared on The Late Late Show where he revealed why he disliked Meghan, saying: "We had two hours in the pub, she had a couple of dirty martinis and pints - we got on brilliantly. Then I put her in a cab, and it turns out it was the cab that took her to a party where she met Prince Harry. The next night they had a solo dinner and that was the last I ever heard from Meghan Markle. I never heard from her again - Meghan Markle ghosted me."
Nothing ever stays secret on the internet, however, as many netizens picked up on Piers's old interview. Evidently, when word got to him, he decided to tweet about it.
"All the trolls raging that I only criticize Meghan Markle because I 'fancied' her & then got upset when she ghosted me… have reminded me that I forgot to publicly wish my wife Celia a happy birthday yesterday. (And yes, she knows she lucked out….)[...]," he said in the tweet, accompanied by images of his 47-year-old wife, journalist Celia Walden.

Piers himself received a few trolls in the comments section, including one person who wrote: "Ah! The 96' photoshoot… 14 years before you married her. Good going."

"Even wishing your wife happy birthday involves hating on Markle [...] pathetic," another tweet read.

Well, given that there's still three more episodes left in the docuseries - set for release on December 15 - only time will tell what Piers will say next.
