100-Yr-Old Swimmer Sets New World Records — And Isn’t Stopping Any Time Soon.

If you think you are too old to learn a new sport, practice a certain activity, or even break a world record, it’s time to think again.
When Helena, Montana resident Charlotte Sanddal retired at 73, she decided to try a new sport: swimming. Fast forward to the present and 100-year-old Charlotte hasn’t stopped swimming or even slowed down — actually it’s quite the opposite!

Since turning century old in August 2022, Charlotte has already broken several world records, including in freestyle, at the Huntsman World Senior Games. But she is not stopping there. She plans to be back in the competition next year!

“I owe it all to the swimming, to being here today,” said Charlotte. “I have no health problems. I don’t take any medication, so I am very very very fortunate, but I owe it all to swimming.”

When asked how she feels about breaking world records at her age, the humble woman answered: “Great, everybody should try!”

As Charlotte redefines what it means to be 100 years old, she’s proving that age is just a number. Thank you, Charlotte, for being such an inspiration. Here’s to many more years of health, a great attitude, and swimming!
