58-Year-Old Pennsylvania Woman Killed In Shark Attack While Snorkeling With Her Family

A 58-year-old woman was just killed during a horrific shark attack while on vacation in the Bahamas.
The unidentified Pennsylvania woman was snorkeling with her family at Green Cay when a bull shark approached her and latched on, officials said.

The woman and her family had been on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship called Harmony of the Seas. The ship was docked for the day in New Providence.

Police said the woman's family members witnessed the attack. They, as well as tour company employees, brought her out of the water and onto the mainland. Sadly, she did not survive her injuries.

Just last month, an 8-year-old boy was attacked by three nurse sharks in the Bahamas. The child survived the incident.

In 2019, another victim was killed about a half a mile away from the most recent attack. Jordan Lindsay, 21, a woman from California, was killed by three sharks near Rose Island.
