Young Doctor Posts Selfie Outside Moments Before A Landslide Takes Her Life

Nine tourists were killed on July 25, 2021, when the bus they were traveling in was hit by boulders from a landslide.

The death include 34-year-old Dr. Deepa Sharma, who shared a photo of herself visiting a historic site on the trip not long before her death. The doctor had shared a few photos of her trip on Twitter, and she seemed to be filled with joy.

She captioned one photo, "Standing at the last point of India where civilians are allowed. Beyond this point around 80 kms ahead we have border with Tibet whom china has occupied illegally."

The last photo was posted at 12:59 p.m., and the landslide began at 1:25 p.m. It was triggered by tremendous rains and also caused a bridge collapse and a lot of damage to vehicles in the area.
