Sam Fender Leaves Pub With Pint In Hand After Going On Sesh With Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp wasn't the only celebrity out celebrating in Newcastle last night as Sam Fender was spotted with a pint in hand after having drinks with the Hollywood actor.

Following weeks in court in Fairfax, Virginia for his defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard, Depp travelled to the UK where he appeared on stage alongside guitarist Jeff Beck and enjoyed some time in a good old English pub.

The actor was still in the UK when the jury delivered its verdict on the case yesterday (1 June), awarding him more than $10 million in damages as they determined he had been defamed by Heard.

On the day of the verdict, social media posts began to emerge showing Depp in a pub in Newcastle’s Quayside. Fender took to Instagram to reveal he was with both Depp and Beck in a beer garden, with a picture posted by the singer showing himself sat at the table with the two stars, along with the caption: "Some serious heroes."

Fender's post came a few hours after he took to Twitter to share the news of his 'first ever Glastonbury', with his set at the iconic festival confirmed a couple of days earlier.

Sharing his excitement at the news yesterday, Fender wrote: "Holy sh*t... who's coming?!!"

The singer had also recently been busy raising more than £130,000 at a charity concert at o2 Newcastle City Hall, and playing at set in Coventry at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend.

After enjoying some drinks with Depp and Beck, the musician was spotted leaving Newcastle's Bridge Tavern and giving a thumbs-up to waiting cameras. He didn't leave empty handed, though, with a half-drunk pint clutched in one hand proving he didn't want any of his drink to go to waste.

Depp is said to have left The Bridge minutes before the verdict came in, though he was later spotted celebrating in the Jam Jar venue in the Jesmond area of the city.

The sight of Depp, Fender and Beck together left Twitter users suitably baffled, with one describing the get-together as a 'fever dream' while another tweeted: " Sam Fender on the p**s with Johnny Depp in Newcastle is the best thing I've seen in my life."

Following the verdict, Depp released a statement on social media to describe himself as being 'overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and the colossal support and kindness from around the world'.

"The best is yet to come and a new chapter has finally begun. Veritas numquam perit. Truth never perishes," he added.
