The 25-year-old actress took to Instagram the day after the high-profile event to voice her opinion on the matter.

On her Instagram Story, posted on Tuesday, she wrote: "To walk on a red carpet and do an interview where you say how starving you are... because you haven't eaten carbs in the last month...all to fit in a f***ing dress? So wrong. So f****d on 100s of levels."

She continued, "To openly admit to starving yourself for the sake of the Met Gala. When you know very well that millions of young men and women are looking up to you and listening to your every word. The ignorance is other-worldly disgusting."

Reinhart, who was present at the previous Met Gala, voiced to people online to "stop supporting these stupid, harmful celebrities whose entire image revolves around their bodies," and that she is "not generally an angry person" but the "the toxicity of this industry" sometimes really gets to her.

Whilst the Riverdale actress didn't name any celebrities, people assume it is about Kim Kardashian.

The 41-year-old SKIMS founder walked the red carpet on Monday in a Jean Louis dress - the same one worn by Marilyn Monroe when the Hollywood icon sang 'Happy Birthday' to President John F. Kennedy.

Kardashian told Vogue magazine that she lost 16 pounds in just three weeks so she could fit into the dress.

"It was such a challenge, I was determined," Kardashian told the magazine, adding that trying to lose 16 pounds in two weeks was as if she were auditioning for a movie role.

"I would wear a sauna suit twice a day, run on the treadmill, completely cut out all sugar and all carbs, and just eat the cleanest veggies and protein," she told Vogue, adding: "I didn’t starve myself, but I was so strict."

Per Cosmopolitan, Reinhart has always been open about her body image struggles. She shared an Instagram story in January about how she's been dealing with severe "obsessive thoughts" about her body/weight gain.

After seeing how users reacted to her Instagram Story, Reinhart tweeted her response earlier today. She wrote that she doesn't speak up "to stay relevant or for attention" but because she doesn't see enough people with large platforms "calling out toxic behavior" in the industry.

She also added: "Some people will never understand where I’m coming from and that’s okay".
