There's not a waking moment when actor John Travolta doesn't miss his late wife Kelly Preston. It's especially hard during milestone occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, and of course Mother's day. This year, the Pulp Fiction star shared a beautiful tribute for the Sky High actor reminding everyone that his dear wife is gone but not forgotten.
"We love and miss you Kelly. Happy Mother’s Day 💐❤️," read the caption of the post which features a video montage of their family's pictures with Barbra Streisand’s song That Face playing in the background, reports TODAY. The over 4-minute clip begins with a small message, "From me to you" displayed on the screen right beside a headshot of Travolta.
This is followed by a slideshow of dozens of pictures featuring both stars as well as their children: daughter Ella, 22, and sons Benjamin, 11, and Jett, who tragically passed away at the age of 16 in 2009. As the video comes to an end, a heartwarming message pops up, "Happy Mother’s Day. With all my love, Johnny."
Travolta has experienced his fair share of heartbreaks in his life which began with the loss of his son Jett. "They say the hardest thing in the world is losing a parent. I can now say that isn't true. The hardest thing in the world is losing a child. Someone you raised and watched grow every day. Someone you taught how to walk and talk. Someone you showed how to love. It's the worst thing to ever happen to anyone," wrote the distressed father on Facebook marking his son's seventh anniversary.
Then, it was his beloved partner's death in July 2020 that left him absolutely devastated. "It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer. She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many," Travolta wrote sharing the news of Preston's death on Instagram.
"My family and I will forever be grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that have helped, as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side. Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered. I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don’t hear from us for a while. But please know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months ahead as we heal," he added.
