Countdown star Rachel Riley Hits Out At Johnny Depp In Explosive Twitter Post

Rachel Riley has fired shots at Johnny Depp amid his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard.

Taking to Twitter, the Countdown star shared a thread titled ‘Johnny Depp: a problematic history’.

Alongside the thread, which discusses a number of the actor’s controversies including his friendship with Marilyn Manson, Riley wrote: “I wouldn’t wish this guy on my worst enemy.”

In a follow-up tweet, she attached an informative article from the National Domestic Violence Hotline titled 'The Myth of Mutual Abuse'.

As most of you will be well aware, Depp is currently suing Heard for a 2018 article in which she stated she was a victim of domestic abuse.

Although the op-ed doesn’t mention the Pirates of the Caribbean star by name, Depp argues that his personal and professional reputation has been damaged as a result of the accusations made against him.

The trial has been widely publicised since it started on 11 April in Fairfax County, Virginia.

While the outcome of the trial is yet to be seen, Riley has been outspoken about her views on Depp, having previously offered support for Heard online.

Hundreds of people have responded to her latest tweets, with one writing: “Have you looked into the facts or actually watched the trial? Johnny is no angel but it seems Amber was the abuser in this case.”

Another wrote, “Hi Rachel. You heard the audio of Amber admitting she abused him yes? Just checking.”

A third added: “None of her witnesses so far have confirmed they have seen him abusing her but at least one of her witnesses has confirmed that she hit them.”

“The jury is very much out on whether he has hit her,” commented a fourth. “But Heard has been recorded admitting she hit him on several occasions, severed his finger, belittled him and still hasn't paid the $charity she told the world she had donated.”

There were some Twitter users who agreed with Riley’s thoughts, including this person who said: “They're gonna ratio you but you're right queen."

The media has been awash with headlines about the high-profile case, which continued on Monday following a week-long hiatus.

Depp is seeking $50 million in damages from Heard, while she is countersuing him for $100 million.

Although the trial was supposed to end this week, the date has been extended to next Friday, 27 May, as new evidence and testimonies are given.
