During the second day of her testimony, the Aquaman actress, 36, told the courtroom about an alleged fight she had with the Pirates of the Caribbean star, 58, where she shared her concerns about his parenting.

Depp is suing Heard for defamation over a 2018 op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post about surviving domestic violence - even though she never mentioned Depp by name in the article. His legal team says it falsely suggests he physically and sexually assaulted her.

The trial began on April 11 and is taking place in Fairfax, Virginia.

Per People, the actress said she "started to feel protective" of Depp's children despite not having known them long.

She then recalled how she and her ex-husband got into an argument in November 2013 when he apparently allowed an older musician - who his daughter Lily-Rose, then 14, had a crush on - to stay the night at their house.

"I felt protective over Lily-Rose and concerned and naturally they were not my children, it's not my place and I understand that I know it's a sensitive subject, so I understand why Johnny got so upset with me," she said on the stand.

The Rum Diary actress also added that she took issue with the actor supposedly introducing his daughter to marijuana. "But that and the introduction of the weed with his daughter, she was so young, I felt protective," she added. "It's not my place and I made him really angry by weighing in on that."

Depp denies Heard's claims about introducing his young daughter to marijuana. In fact, in 2020, during his libel suit against UK newspaper The Sun, the Fantastic Beasts actor said he "never encouraged" his daughter to use the drug.

He recalled telling Lily-Rose: "Listen, sweetheart, if you are at a party and someone hands you the joint, take the joint from that person and pass it to the next person… don't experiment with drugs with people you don't know."

"Please do me the honor of coming to me when you are ready when you really feel you are ready," Depp continued. "Because I don't want your first experience in this world to be with people you don't know, taking things you don't know that I can't trust, so it's a safety issue."

Per Insider, the Pineapple Express star also claims that the actor went "on a bender" on his daughter's 15th birthday, so she instead took her out for dinner.

At that time, she was filming Adderall Diaries with James Franco, who Heard said her former husband "despised". After an argument that allegedly led to Depp slapping her in front of people, she then went back to their hotel room and later took Lily-Rose to dinner.

She said: "Johnny was sick after having passed out on the plane, so I took her to dinner, we went to Benihana," Heard said. "I put on my smile, took her out, tried to make her feel loved, and celebrated for her birthday."

Depp purportedly addressed the incident by claiming he only drank a glass of champagne on the plane and passed out after some medication he was taking at that time.

In previous testimony, the actor said his daughter did not attend his wedding with his ex-wife because "she and Ms. Heard were not on particularly great terms, for several reasons."
