Depp is pursuing $50 million in damages after Heard claimed she was a survivor of domestic abuse in an op-ed in the Washington Post in 2018.
While Heard didn't outrightly state his name, his lawyers claim that it was about him and negatively affected his career. Heard is countersuing for $100 million.
Watch Heard's appearance on The Late Late Show With James Corden:
Per the Daily Mail, the actress claims that the altercation went down on December 15, 2015, and that the 58-year-old actor headbutted her "right in the nose," while "screaming and swinging" and "I f***ing hate you" at her, before clutching her by the hair and dragging her into a neighboring apartment and suffocating her with a pillow.
She said: "I thought this is how I die, he's going to kill me now. He's going to kill me and he won't even have realized it."
The next evening the Pineapple Express actress was slated to appear on The Late Late Show to promote her film, The Danish Girl.
She said to the court: "I got worried that I wouldn't be able to hide the bruising and swelling. I iced it all night and the next day checked in the mirror to see if I could get away with it, meaning hiding it, so I could make an appearance.
"I gambled and thought maybe I could pull it off, I had my hair and makeup team come. They worked around it, meaning worked around the lesions on my head with the hair spray because that stings."

The Rum Diary actress said that because her lip was "still bleeding and swollen", she had to use "super heavy matte red lipstick" to hide her "busted lip" and when she was questioned by people about what happened, she said that she had an accident.
The court is on a break until May 16, and Heard will pick up her testimony when it's back in session.
