Awkward Video Goes Viral After Fast 10 Director Quits Just Days Into Filming

People are concerned that Vin Diesel may be holding the Fast X director hostage until he finishes the movie.* Have a look for yourself:

This week, Justin Lin announced that he was stepping down from the franchise after finishing the 10th movie in the series.

But a video posted by its star at the end of the first week of shooting has got fans worried that Lin might be being held against this will.

In the short clip, Mr Diesel says he's excited to be back on set and working on what he hopes will be a special film.

He then asks Lin, 50, what he thinks about it.

Not looking at all at ease, the director says: "Week one, just finished week one."

Vin then asks: "How does it feel?"

To which Lin replies: "It feels like the beginning of an epic ending."

"Is it fair to say that this will be the best one?" prompts Vin.

Lin then looks up nervously to the actor, before shrugging and saying: "In my heart, yes."

Since Vin posted the clip to instagram, it has been viewed over a million times, with plenty of people commenting on the awkward interaction.

One person said: "This is from less than a week ago on the set of Fast X.

"Vin Diesel looks like he’s holding Justin Lin hostage and he’s already thinking to himself 'I have to get out of here'."

Echoing the concern, another chimed in: "It’s seeming more and more likely that Vin Diesel has kidnapped Justin Lin and is forcing him to finish the Fast Saga."

"Strange. Justin Lin seems so happy here," put a third.

While another added: "Okay, after seeing this I'm glad Justin Lin left cause that man looks like he's being held hostage."

Lin has been a key part of the Fast and Furious team for many years, but confirmed this week that he would not be returning as director.

He did, however, assure fans that he would stay onboard as a producer.

In a statement, Lin said: "With the support of Universal, I have made the difficult decision to step back as director of FAST X, while remaining with the project as a producer.

"Over 10 years and five films, we have been able to shoot the best actors, the best stunts, and the best damn car chases.

"On a personal note, as the child of Asian immigrants, I am proud of helping to build the most diverse franchise in movie history.

"I will forever be grateful to the amazing cast, crew and studio for their support, and for welcoming me into the FAST family."
