Both Mila Kunis & Ashton Kutcher Were ‘Nervous’ For Their First Kiss On ‘That 70s Show’ Set

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are American actors who are best known for their work on the sitcom “That 70s Show.” The show aired from 1998 to 2006 and had 8 seasons and 200 episodes. It centered around the lives of a teenage friend group in the 1970s and addressed social issues during that time. The show performed well and was a commercial success, which helped launch the careers of both Kutcher and Kunis.

Before Kunis was an actress, she traveled many miles from Ukraine to the United States at the age of seven to experience a one-of-a-kind upbringing. Moving with her brother, mom, and father, the star said her parents left the (then) Soviet Union for more opportunities. From Barbie Mattel commercials to "Seventh Heaven" appearances, Kunis quickly became popular as a successful child actor. Finally making her way onto "That 70's Show", Kunis was 14 when she was cast.

Kutcher, shares similar stories with Kunis about how they grew up. Both individuals faced major adversity for their ages. Kutcher didn't come from another country- he was born in Iowa with a fraternal twin brother who has cerebral palsy. He would later attend the University of Iowa and study Biochemical engineering before getting his start in the entertainment industry.

Kutcher is known for his roles in films such as “Dude, Where's My Car?” in 2000, “The Butterfly Effect” in 2004 and for portraying Steve Jobs in the 2013 biographical film “Jobs.” Kunis is remembered for starring in “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” in 2008 and for providing the voice of Meg Griffin on the comedy animated series “Family Guy” since 1999.

The pair first met while working on "That '70s Show" but didn't start dating until many years later.

To say Kunis and Kutcher have shared a special bond since the beginning would be an understatement.

Kunis experienced her first kiss with Kutcher on the set of “That 70s Show.” In 2020 Kunis told People, “I was like, ‘Oh, he’s so cute, it’s the Calvin Klein model!’ ” Kunis said. “Then I was like, ‘I have to kiss him?’ I was so nervous and uncomfortable. I had the biggest crush on him.”

Kutcher later admitted he had no idea he was the actress's first kiss. In a People interview in 2001, the actor said, “I’m the first guy she kissed? Oh my god, I had no idea!” said Kutcher,. “I’m so glad I didn’t know that or it would’ve been too much pressure.” He went on to say he was the one who was nervous that day.

“I was so nervous. She acted so cool. She seemed as if she’d done it a thousand times. I was the one with the butterflies in my stomach. I mean, here’s this little girl and I have to kiss her. It was nerve-racking,” he said.

Despite Kunis and Kutcher’s romance on the screen in 1998, the two had no real-life romance during their time working together. In fact both of the actors went on to date other people after their time on show. Kunis dated actors like Macaulay Culkin and Kutcher dated and eventually married actress Demi Moore. It would be years after their on-screen romance that the two would reconnect at the Golden Globes awards show.

During an interview on “The Howard Stern Show” in 2016 Kunis said, “I see this guy and I see his back and he’s really tall. “Then he just turns around and it was literally like if we were in a movie, the music would start playing and the violins would go. I think for the first time ever he took my breath away – I was like f—, he’s good-looking,” she added.

“Long story short, I didn’t leave until the next morning,” she revealed. “[It was the] first time I ever slept over while I was single,” Kunis said. The two went on to “hook up” for a few months Kunis admitted during a 2018 appearance on the “WTF with Marc Maron” podcast. She admitted she was shaken when Kutcher mentioned seeing another woman.

"He said something, and I was like, 'Oh, my god. I love this man, and I have to walk away because this is not the agreement that we had. And so I'm going to speak up,’” Kunis said.

What Kutcher did next was straight out of a movie. "The next day, he showed up to my house and he was like, 'Move in with me,' and I said, 'OK,'" Kunis added.

The two A-list celebrities have been together since! The couple got engaged in 2014 and then married in 2015. The couple has welcomed two children together. Their first daughter, Wyatt Isabelle Kutcher, was born in 2014. The couple's youngest son, Dimitri Portwood Kutcher was born in 2016. Kunis, Kutcher, and their two children currently live in Los Angeles, California.
