Woman Left Mortified After Being Kicked Off Plane Over 'inappropriate' Leggings

A popular South Korean DJ has claimed she was 'kicked out' of her flight just before departure because of what she was wearing.

On Monday, 25 April, DJ Soda – real name Hwang So-hee – had just boarded her flight, which was set to travel from New York's John F Kennedy airport to LAX, Los Angeles, when she was allegedly told to collect her luggage and get off the aircraft from her seat in business class.

The DJ has since taken to social media to speak out about the experience. On Instagram, the DJ explained how she was 'gladly welcomed' at the boarding gate by an American Airlines representative who checked her boarding pass.

She said: "The flight attendant seems to greet me when I step onboard.

"I was enjoying my welcome drink in business class when a staff suddenly approached me to pack up my belongings and leave the plane without any kind of explanation.

"As I was escorted off the plane, they claimed that my sweatpants were 'inappropriate' and 'offensive' telling me that I need to take the next flight."

The DJ's trousers were 'sponsored @RIPNDIP 'F**K YOU' sweatpants'.

She explained how she 'had an important meeting set up in LA on that day' so had to try and get back on the flight.

She said: "With my broken fingers, I [...] ended up taking off my pants in front of the whole crew and standing half-naked while they still refused to board me on the flight. They even sarcastically commented that I could have taken off my pants earlier.

"When they finally let me enter, I put my pants inside out and finally sat down after an hour of delay causing inconvenience to the members of the flights on board. I was mortified and trembling in fear for the next six hours on my flight back to LA.

The DJ added she was eventually able to re-board the plane with her 'pants on' because of the 'hard work of [her] team members'.

The DJ noted her 'anxiety' throughout the whole experience and how 'everyone on the plane was terrified'.

"I have never had an issue with wearing this pair of pants before in my many months of touring in North America and they did not have any problem with me wearing it at the time of check-in nor when I sat down at my seat," she said on Instagram.

She concluded: "It's the first time I've been kicked out of a plane while on tour in eight years, it's the first time I've taken my pants off in front of everyone, and it's the first time I've prayed with my pants off...

"Moreover, it was unbelievable that such a thing had happened in the United States, a country that respects individual freedom."

DJ Soda resolved that 'from now on' she will be 'boycotting American Airlines'.

"[I] hope this NEVER happens to anyone ever again."

A spokesperson for American Airlines told LADbible: "American Airlines policies prohibit offensive clothing. During the boarding process for American Airlines Flight 306 at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), our team members informed Ms. Hwang of our policies and provided her the opportunity to change out of clothing displaying explicit language.

"The customer complied with requests and was allowed to continue travel, as planned, to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)."
