8-YO child abandoned at fuel station with a note that said he was too naughty to be taken care of

Trigger warning: Contains details of abuse that may be distressing to some.
A helpless child was found all alone with only a note, written by his mother, that revealed she was abandoning him because he was too mischievous. The young boy was reportedly too troublesome and was causing problems for the family, which drove the mother to recklessly dump her child on the roadside in Pelalawan, Indonesia.

Clutching the note his mother wrote while sitting at the petrol station, local residents spotted the boy and found it strange that he was all alone there in the late hours of the night. The child was taken to a nearby village before the police were called and informed about the abandoned boy, as reported by The Sun.

The words written in the letter was the farewell message the mother wrote for the child before dumping him to fend for himself. "Child, forgive me," the note said. "I am forced to leave you on the street as I’m no longer willing to see you suffer or tortured because of your mischief, every day you are causing problems. Forgive me, child. Take good care of yourself."
One look at the boy was enough for one to believe that he may have faced abused. He was found with marks around his mouth as well as a cut on his cheek. There are local reports that suggest that the boy's father was the one who acted violently against the boy, and this may be the torture the mother was referring to in the letter.

The events that led to the boy being abandoned began at home when his father came back home from work to find that two of his children looked like they were beaten up, according to a translated version of a Gridstar report. Upon being asked about it, the father was told by the children that their brother, who was later abandoned for his "mischief," had beaten them up.
The father then went into a fit of rage and began punishing the boy in a brutal manner. "The perpetrator pinched the victim's left little finger. The victim was already crying, but the perpetrator was still pinching the victim's little finger and ring finger with pliers," said Pelalawan Iptu Police Public Relations Officer, Edy Haryanto to Kompas.com, as quoted by Gridstar.

Threatening to cut off the child's leg, the father continued to punish him until the boy's mother came and stopped him. The mother, who divorced the father, reportedly took the boy and decided to dump him. Edy said that the mother "took the victim away and left the victim in Palas Village, Pangkalan Kuras District." The boy was later found at the petrol station with the note in his hand.
As investigations were carried out, the police called the boy's parents for questioning, according to Kompas.com. "Today his parents, the family, the head of the RT / RW, and all related parties were summoned to be examined by the Pangkalan Kuras Police," said Edy. "This is to find out whether the child was actually dumped and allegedly abused by his parents."

In the statement, Edy also said, "Indeed, there are indications of violence against the child. But, we need to further understand what the background is, why it happened like this."

Investigations are still being carried out to get to the bottom of the case.
