Two-year-old Kenzo was excited to discover that he bears an uncanny resemblance to Antonio - a character in the animated Disney movie Encanto.

Kah Brand was enjoying a family movie night with her son when the character appeared on the screen.

"When Antonio popped up on the screen Kenzo was just staring," Brand said in an interview with Yahoo Life. "He was in awe."

Brand went on to say that Antonio looked so much like her son that he started to believe he was on TV.

"At some point, he turned around to his dad and I sitting on the couch and was smiling: I think he truly thought it was him because there is such a strong resemblance," she said.

Co-written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Encanto is an animated movie about the magical Madrigal family.

Every family member has a special power except for Mirabel, the main character. But when their magical home, Encanto, starts to change, it falls on Mirabel to save the family.

In the film, Antonio is Mirabel's five-year-old cousin who has the ability to talk to animals. He's voiced by 10-year-old actor Ravi Cabot-Conyers, who also appears in the Netflix show #BlackAF.

New York mom Brand spoke about how special it felt to see her child feel represented on-screen.

She said: "It makes my heart happy. As a mom, I'm always trying to capture these special moments. Growing up there wasn't much diversity in the way characters looked — that's changing.

Brand was so touched by the movie that she shared some snaps of Kenzo watching it on an Instagram account she manages for her son, @katchingupwithkenzo.

"Check Kenzo out in the new Disney Movie Encanto lol #representationmatters #ThankYouDisney," she wrote in the caption.

As for whether Encanto will become a family favorite, Brand says that they do try to limit Kenzo's screen time. However, the toddler has rewatched the film and continued to point out his animated doppelganger.
