As a youngster, he was able to lift three times his bodyweight while using his flexibility to become a master of karate.
Aged just 11 Richard was named 'World's Strongest Boy'.

His parents came in for a lot of flak after a documentary about him was released, with many saying it was cruel and unethical for his parents to do that to such a young lad.
Some medical professionals even said that a child of his age wouldn't be capable of producing enough testosterone to get to that size, suggesting he was using steroids, though his mother strenuously denied this.
Now, the 29-year-old and says he's left his weight lifting days behind him.
The waterboard abs are long gone and it seems like Richard doesn't regret any of it.

"If anything it just got boring.
"I’m very proud of my past.
"It’s not something I don’t want people to know, it’s just that I’m not going to be stuck living in it."

The former bodybuilder still does cardio exercises - chin-ups, stair climbing and skateboarding - to stay in shape.
Richard revealed he now dreams of being a quantum scientist for NASA.
