Adam from College Humor explains to us that you don’t really need 8 glasses of water a day in this trending clip.

There are a lot of facts that everyone seems to believe in that are actually fallacies. Like the “fact” that you need to drink 8 glasses of water day.

Insane as it may sound, our bodies actually evolved in a highly accurate, physiological response to dehydration — it’s called “thirst,” you might’ve heard of it before.

According to the exercise expert in the video, as long we drink water everytime we are thirsty, we’ll be just fine.

The whole “8 glasses a day” thing probably came from beverage companies that constantly remind us to “hydrate or else.”

Do people actually drink when they’re not thirsty?
