Whirlpools form when two rapid currents traveling in opposite directions meet, and a group of Latvian men recently captured an epic whirlpool on camera.
The video below starts with a little whirlpool in a lake. You might not think it looks dangerous or crazy at first, but give it a few seconds. Slowly, the whirlpool picks up momentum, and it starts to really drag the ice in the lake into his vortex.
At the 0:52 seconds mark you can see the huge size of the whirlpool. It’s remarkable how something started so small and quickly became big enough to devour large pieces of ice and wood.
