For any parent with babies, a crying baby is one of the worst things to deal with. The cry of baby disturbs the little peace that you had in life, and it makes your job as a parent more stressful. Generally, babies take a while to calm down after they scream, and this can gradually add more and more stress to any parent.
Fortunately, Dr. Robert Hamilton from Santa Monica, California, demonstrates an effective technique for instantly calming crying babies. In fact, he claims this technique can calm a baby in mere seconds.
In the video below, Dr. Hamilton shows step-by-step how to calm a baby. He calls the technique, “the hold,” and it is essentially holding the baby in a special away.
First, pick up a crying infant and fold each of the child’s arms across his or her chest. Then, secure the arm with your left hand by placing it under the baby’s chin. Next, put your opposite hand underneath the diaper. Support the infant at an angle and gently shake the baby up and down. Like clockwork, the baby will stop crying.
