Photos of a West Virginia State Trooper rescuing a young child following a DUI arrest are going viral.
The Officer said the child was covered in filth sitting in the backseat of his mothers car during a DUI arrest less than a mile away from the Princeton detachment. Just wait until you hear the rest of the story.
The one-year-old baby was found sitting in his carseat covered in vomit by Senior Trooper D.C Graham. The scene instantly broke his heart since the trooper was also a father himself.
The mother driving under the influence was immediately arrested and her child taken back to the police department. Upon bringing the baby back, troopers believe that the baby has been sick for some time now. A truly heartbreaking thing to hear about. A mother driving intoxicated while her baby is in the back seat covered in vomit and sick.
Luckily the police department had a great heart and immediately sprung into action before child protective services came.
“As a father myself, I couldn’t let it sit in its own urine and feces and vomit,” said Graham. “So I went ahead and drew a bath in the sink of the detachment and was able to clean him up a little bit and get him feeling a little bit better.”
As you can see in the picture, the baby had nothing but smiles being with the police department.
As for updates on the driver, she is facing charges of a DUI while driving a minor. The child is now in the custody of a legal guardian and under supervision of child protective services.
Its sometimes is amazing how babies find their way into the rightful hands. This little baby was lucky he found his way to Senior Trooper Graham. Bless his heart for finding the baby and taking care of it until CPS came.
