If you haven’t been keeping up with the news recently, then start paying attention to what is happening in Houston, Texas. In the last few days, Houston has entered a state of disaster as a colossal amount of rainfall has hit the area. With over 2 feet of water in some areas, paralyzing floods have forced locals out of their homes.
Currently, there are over 1,200 rescues and five people dead, but this does not factor the nonhuman animals and wildlife that need saving.
Cypress Trails Equestrian is home to over 70 horses, and many of them escaped during the flooding. However, they didn’t make it very far. The horses were overtaken by the floods, and many were completely submerged. Fortunately, members of the community weren’t going to let them succumb to the floods.
Men and women risked their lives to save these group of horses. Some dive straight into the flood in order to retrieve each horse. It’s heartwarming to see so many people care about the other animals in their community.
