In a perfect world, kids would never be running late in the morning, and they would always make it to the bus for school on time. In a perfect world, a kid who misses the bus could still get a ride to school from mom or dad. But it’s not a perfect world, so when this little boy missed his bus, he thought he’d either have to walk to school or miss out… and it was field trip day! So he set out walking.
Lucky for him, Officer Klinge of the Fountain Police Department spotted the boy and helped him out. Officer Kling was recently recognized as Police Officer of the Year, so of course he went the extra mile to assist this little boy. Klinge picked him up and drove him to school, ensuring he could safely join his classmates (and enjoy the field trip!).
When they finally got to school, the little boy jumped out. But as he walked toward the building, Officer Klinge noticed something else that wasn’t quite right so he got out of the car and bent down to give the boy a hand.
A mom named Christina spotted the sweet interaction and snapped a photo. She sent the photo and the story to KRDO News:
This morning I was waiting to follow my daughters school bus to attend a field trip at the Venetucci farm, my daughter attends Sunrise Elementary. While I was waiting this police officer pulled up, got out of his car to help this little boy out. I believe he missed his bus and this police officer picked him up, drove him to school, helped him out of the car, then bent down to tie his shoes then walked him in. I had to capture this moment, especially with all the negativity with police officers going around. How amazing is this to see? I didn’t get this officers name, but I felt I needed to share so the world can see that not all police officers are bad.
