Cop finds a strange bag on his car, realizes its a special care package for cops made by communnity

Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy Investigator Bob Taft was going through the motions of his job, when he noticed something very strange and peculiar.
A suspicious item was left on top of his parked patrol car. As a former SWAT team member, Taft was no stranger to mysterious threats. His instincts naturally kicked in, and he cautiously approached his car to investigate.
But as he got closer to the car, he realized that the item was a white paper bag with a blue and white ribbon attached to the top. Taped onto the bag was a note that was titled “Survival Kit for Law Enforcement Officers.”
Taft soon smiled with joy and astonishment. He realized that the bag was a gift from a secret resident in San Juan Capistrano. The blue strip and white stars represented the men in blue who serve our nation and protect our citizens on a daily basis.
A thoughtful “Secret Santa” wished for the police department to have a Happy Holidays. It was a wonderful token of appreciation for men and women who do so much for their city!
This Secret Santa compiled a very clever “survival kit” for law enforcement officers. The bag carried a wide variety of candies. They were accompanied by a note that denoted the reason behind the candy and why it was relevant to this “survival kit.”
The note on the bag read as follows:
  • Lifesaver – to remind you of the many times you have been one
  • Smarties – to give you wisdom for those split second decision
  • Starburst – for the burst of energy you need
  • Hersheys Kisses – to show our love for you
  • Gum – to help everyone stick together
  • Tootsie Roll – to help you roll with the punches
  • Peppermint Patty – to help keep your cool
  • Dum Dum – because you deal with a lot of them
  • Pay Day – because you’re not doing it for the money
  • Laffy Taffy – to remind you that laughter is a great stress reliever
It was a incredibly thoughtful and witty gift. Each candy caught the officer’s attention and thanked them for their great contributions to their town.
Speaking with the Hermosa Beach Patch, Sheriff Taft,
I really appreciate them taking the time to put that together to show their appreciation.
What a wonderful gesture to the men and women in blue! Be sure to take time out of your holiday break to give thanks and appreciation to our law enforcement officers. They do so much for our community, but rarely get the gratitude they deserve.
