A T-Rex Skull was Found and It's Insanely Huge

Dinosaurs are awesome. Hands down, no question. They are some of the most fascinating creatures that have graced the earth. The more we learn about them, the more we can learn about how our current world came to be.

Archaeologists are constantly trying to find pieces of information to put together history, and in Seattle they seem to have struck gold...or, bones, I guess. A team of over 45 people found a large, fossilized fossil vertebrae that belonged to a carnivorous dinosaur. It took nearly two weeks to excavate the area around it so they could gain access to the bones.
Once the site was ready, they were able to continue searching. They found the skull about 20ft away from the vertebrae. It weighs around 2500 pounds, which is heavier than the average polar bear.

"The combination of the skull features, the size of the bones, and the honeycomb-like appearance of the bones tell us this is a T. rex," says Dr. Greg Wilson of the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture.

The skull is currently encased in plaster to protect it while the rest of the skeleton is dug up. The skull marks only one of 15 reasonably complete T-Rex skull ever discovered.
