Every day, Brittney Nichols sends her 2-year-old daughter to Benton Preschool and Childcare. While her child was born premature with a few special health issues, Brittney felt she was safe in the hands of the daycare employees, especially Christy Owens.
“Every single morning, when I drop my daughter off, Christy is full of joy. Christy is always so amazingly happy and kind,” she says. “She treats the children as if they are her own. They all love her, as do we the parents.”
One day, while driving her car, she noticed Christy walking towards the church. “I witnessed Christy walking one Sunday in her Sunday dress with her Bible tucked under her arm,” Brittney recalled.
The church was quite far, and Brittney found it bizarre that Christy would try to walk there. It would take her way too long!
She immediately called the daycare center and started gathering information about Christy’s situation. Then she learned that Christy didn’t have a car.
Brittney was shocked, and she knew she had to help fix this problem. She collected donations from the community and from other parents of daycare children. After several weeks, she raised enough money to buy a pre-owned Chevy Cavalier.
With the leftover money, she enrolled Christy in a pre-paid driving lesson with insurance.
In the video below, watch Brittney unveil the special surprise to Christy. Christy’s reaction is just priceless!
