Here’s a story of revenge in its sweetest form.
When she was 12 years old, Louisa Manning of the U.K. was bullied by an older boy at school. He called her horrible names, like “hairy” and “manbeast.” He made fun of her for being overweight. As a result of the constant teasing and ridicule, Louisa suffered from anorexia for years.
But come college, Louisa turned her life around. She got healthy, she looked great, and her confidence returned. And then one day, during a college sporting event, Louisa happened to bump into that very same boy who used to bully her — only now they were both 10 years older than when they’d first met.
He had no idea who he was talking to and flirting with, but she knew exactly who he was. In a strange turn of events, Louisa’s former bully asked her out on a date.
That’s when Louisa came up with a brilliant plan. She arranged to meet her former bully at a restaurant for dinner — but she never showed.
Instead, she asked the waiter to give her date an old photo and letter…
She’s a healthy, beautiful, and confident twenty-something woman.
Ten years later, during a sporting event in college, Louisa bumped into her childhood bully. Since she looked so different, he had no idea who he was talking to — but she did.
Then he asked her out, and she said yes.
He waited at the restaurant, but Louisa never showed. Then the waiter handed him the old photo of Louisa you see above, and a handwritten letter…
So sorry I can’t join you tonight. Remember year 8, when I was fat and you made fun of my weight? No? I do — I spent the following three years eating less than an apple a day. So I’ve decided to skip dinner.
Remember the monobrow you mocked? The hairy legs you were disgusted by? Remember how every day for three years, you and your friends called me Manbeast? No perhaps you don’t — or you wouldn’t have seen how I look eight years later and deemed me [&#$%#] enough to treat me like a human being.
I thought I’d send you this as a reminder. Next time you think of me, picture that girl in this photo, because she’s the one who just stood you up.
Seems like we all enjoy a story of sweet revenge every now and then.
