BBC journalist Dan Simmons was invited to take part in the unique experience of testing the structural integrity of a giant glass bridge using a sledgehammer.

The 430-meter long and 300-meter high glass bridge in China’s Zhangziazia Grand Canyon is set to open in July. And to lessen the people’s fears of glass bridges following an incident on a different glass walkway, Simmons gave the glass panel solid whacks from the sledgehammer with convincing results.
Seems safe enough.
