With the winter weather in full swing, it’s become more and more difficult to get from one place to another. Not only do you have to worry about your car getting stuck in snow, but you also have to be careful not to trip on ice. Ice is especially tricky to navigate as a slip can occur out of nowhere and completely unexpectedly.
For one elderly woman, life became more difficult and complicated when her daily route home was littered with icy sidewalks. As someone who is accustomed to walking home, this woman feared the potential perils of a slip. For a woman who’s old, her ability to recover from a nasty fall was limited, and she did not want to take any chances. But how was she going to get to and from work if she didn’t want to talk?
A young man named Carl Hanley had a solution. In a Facebook post that his since gone viral, Manley writes, “A couple of months ago, an elderly lady asked me to walk her home because she was scared she was going to slip on the ice. We’ve become friends and now I walk her home almost everyday.”
How wonderful is that? The post has since gone on to be shared over 200,000 times and has over 1 million likes. The world is a much better place when people go out of their way to help others.
