Throughout the course of modern life, email has to be one of the most influential inventions. Now you can contact people instantly as well as send documents around the world that otherwise might have taken weeks to reach their destination. This saves trees by reducing our reliance on paper and expedites everyday life since there is less waiting around for opportunities to ripen.
But email has not only opened up business and other opportunities, it has become a battleground for spammers and scammers.
However, one distressed woman realized that her email inbox could be home to a much worse threat than “Free Viagra” ads and other junk. And this threat could be happening to you…
During a freezing winter day in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a couple was eager to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary. They wanted to leave the frigid north for sunny Florida.
But this trip wasn’t just an ordinary one. They were planning to stay in the same hotel in which they spent their romantic honeymoon.
Because their schedules were so busy, the loving couple was forced to take separate flights to the Florida destination. The husband’s flight was to leave Thursday while the wife planned to leave the next day.
Everything went off without a hitch. When he got to the hotel room, he opened his laptop and sent his wife a quick email. But a single typo made his email go to somewhere he did not intend. His wife never received his message. She began to worry…
The man’s email was sent to a widow’s inbox in Houston, Texas. She had just returned home from her husband’s funeral. He was a popular minister who had just passed away from a devastating heart attack.
The widow sat down at her computer. She planned to scroll through her inbox looking at emails from relatives and well-wishers.
But she never made it past the first email. When she opened it, she screamed and fainted…
Her son ran over to check on his mom. But then he too saw the opened email.
The email read as follows:
“To: My loving wife Subject: I’ve arrived
Date: January 7, 2016
“I know you’re surprised to hear from me. They have computers here now and you are allowed to send emails to your loved ones. I’ve just arrived and have been checked in.”
But he hadn’t finished is message yet!
“I see that everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you then. Hope your journey is as uneventful as mine was. P.S. Sure is hot down here!!!!!”
This minister’s wife couldn’t recover from the shocking letter from Hell!
Fortunately, her tech-savvy son told his widowed mother that the letter was sent to the wrong person. After that, they had a good laugh at the coincidence. And realized that her prankster husband must have intervene from Heaven to give his family a good laugh.
What’s your reaction to this funny story? Did it make you chuckle?
