In 1946, Florence “SeeSee” Rigney began working at Tacoma General Hospital in Tacoma, Washington. Fast forward 70 years, and she’s still active at the hospital, helping out patients whenever she can.
Last year, SeeSee celebrated her 90th birthday. The entire hospital surprised this operating room nurse with a heartfelt birthday surprise. After spending over six decades dedicating her life to nursing, this was a well-deserved surprise.
The entire nursing team at the hospital lined up to sing “Happy Birthday” to SeeSee. While one coworker recorded the moment on camera, others cheered, congratulated, and thanked SeeSee for being a huge inspiration to all of them. They even dressed her in a birthday outfit and handed her a bouquet of flowers.
Then, the team presented her with the ultimate surprise, a letter from the state’s governor, Jay Insleee. Her coworkers had written a letter to the state’s governor, informing him of SeeSee’s accomplishments, and he responded by honoring SeeSee with a beautiful letter. He spoke of her “selflessness and longstanding commitment to excellence.”
